Forest Protection and Conservation
Virginia's forests contribute $11.5 billion annually to
the Commonwealth's economy while enhancing the health and
well being of its citizens. The forest resource supports
one of the largest industries in the State by providing
raw materials for numerous forest products. The estimated
value at risk for the state's 13,458,000 acres of productive
forest land is $2,044 per acre; the total risk is over $27
billion.
