It seems we are never going to get away from the reed thin sleek models on the catwalks of Paris and London parading  furs and animals prints at the expense of the threatened species that adorn their lithe bodies.   The best we can do is not perpetuate the fashion by wearing fur or animals prints ourselves.  We can continue to protest and boycott those offensive articles and hope that the fashion dies a natural death.

It is refreshing and heartening to know that some designers do have animal rights at heart when they create their masterpieces.  While the model may well be wearing mink furs, if you look closely you may see that she is sporting a beautiful hand crafted  ring or bracelet in the shape of an animal.  A polar bear ring, a tiered necklace with tiny parrots, and antelope ear rings are just a few of the creations that Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, co president of Chopard, has designed and created as part of her WWF initiative.

Caroline has always been deeply passionate about animals and in combination of the 150 year celebration of Chopard, and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), she has produced these unique and beautiful pieces to contribute to the WWF.    The world Wildlife Fund is one of the world’s largest and most respected organizations which does exhaustive and ongoing initiatives for various animal and wildlife concerns across the globe.

Now for the first time, Caroline’s artistic masterpieces will bid for attention on the catwalks of Europe.   Animal right activist around the world should applaud her for taking a stand in a way that she knows best.  Crafting unique and precious jewelry for societies elite which will also aid in the salvation of our threatened animals on this wonderful planet.
